    Start your trip deep in the back country thanks to our friends at Lakeland Airways LTD. There is no feeling like watching your airplane shuttle take off from a canoe and leave you alone in the middle of a lake. As the sound of the plane quiets, the stress of your everyday life is lifted.

    Now is when it truly sets in, this is what your life will be like for the next 7 days. Canoeing, hiking, camping and feasting around the fire in wild Temagami.

    A new kind of wilderness retreat for all who feel the call of the wild, a desire to reconnect with their true nature, and explore new horizons within and without.

    This Wild Connections retreat is co-created by Chris (Driftwood Co-Founder), Brett (Nature & Spirit Connection Guide), and the living spirits of Algonquin Park.

    You will be guided, and supported in deep nature connection practices, journeys of presence and play, soul level guidance sessions, and free time to simply relax and enjoy your time away from the hectic demands of everyday life.

    Embarking on a backcountry canoe and camping trip for a grade 8 graduation excursion is a thrilling adventure of growth and celebration.

    Students paddle through pristine lakes, challenging their limits while bonding with classmates. They encounter breathtaking landscapes and wildlife, fostering an appreciation for nature. Amidst the wilderness, they face personal challenges, developing survival skills and discovering their potential. The trip becomes a celebration of growth as achievements are recognized around the campfire.

    It's a transformative experience that shapes young minds, fostering appreciation for nature, personal development, and lasting memories.

  • Fire Starter Classic

    August 4-6
    3 days / 2 nights

    This is a great first-time trip or weekend getaway option. Depart from base camp with a picturesque day of travel to your campsite. Spend time leisurely exploring the beauty of Algonquin with its meandering rivers and lakes dotted with islands. Remember Algonquin is known as being a wildlife sanctuary, so keep your eyes peeled and camera ready for moose or beaver spotting. In the evening listen to the chilling call of the loon and gaze up at the vast night sky painted with stars. On the third day, retrace your steps towards your starting point. You’ll be surprised at how you see things differently.

  • The Big Loop

    August 7th - 14th, 2024
    7 days / 6 nights

    This is the ideal trip for those desiring a deeper understanding and connection to nature. Each day starts with coffee and a fire-cooked breakfast. Over these days you will watch your camping skills develop and become your new "normal". We will have the opportunity to travel deep into the park and enjoy lakes to ourselves. Waterfalls and wildlife will be some of your highlights but the stillness and simplicity are what will have you reflecting on this trip for years to come. You will be amazed by the efficiency of your camping skills at this point. Tents and tarps will be packed away in record time as everyone in the group really starts to find their groove. On the water, you will be amazed how your paddling skills have you laughing at the day 1 version of yourself.

We know how much of a difference quality makes in the backcountry, so rest assured from food to gear you will be taken care of.

Travel: Canoes, paddles, life jackets.
Gear: Tents, tarps, sleeping pads/Thermarest, sleeping bags.
Food: Water purifying system, and cooking equipment. We accommodate dietary requests.
Safety Gear: Emergency communication device, compass, bailers, rope, fully stocked first aid kit. All guides are certified as Wilderness First Responders and National Lifeguards.
What do you bring: All your personal items such as clothing, toiletries. We will email you a packing list.

Additional: Floatplane transportation, professional photographer, translator/bilingual guide

Arrive at base camp for 10 am
Site tour and discuss trip over refreshments

Push off from the dock for the Park
Paddle across Kawawaymog and down the meandering Amable Du Fond
Avoid the falls and find your feet on a couple of moderate portages
Arrive at North Tea Lake
Enjoy a snack next to the rapids
Round the shores of this pristine lake and find your own campsite
Set up camp, take in the afternoon sun, and explore your new home
Build a fire, cook dinner, and stargaze

Day 2
